[ 14 Week Appointment ]

So today was my second appointment. Everything seems to be in order, except my blood pressure is a little high. Something that of course runs in my family, but I need to drink more fluids and reduce my salt intake.

I've lost another 5 lbs, so that makes it a total of 11 lbs since week 10. Really?! Are you sure I haven't gained 11 lbs? Because it sure does look like it!! The Doctor doesn't seem too worried. He said that it's very common for mothers of multiples to lose weight in their first trimester. However, he said that if I lose weight at my 18 week appointment, we have some problems. With my appetite coming back, I don't think we'll have any problems!

I did ask my Doctor about our March trip to New York to see the Jordan Drill Team Charlonians compete at Nationals. GO JESSICA! But he doesn't seem too optomistic. By the time we leave, I'll be 25-26 weeks along and he said that can be an iffy time for a mother carrying multiples. He said we'll play it by ear and see how I'm doing when it comes closer. I know some people will say I'm okay to fly, but I think I'm going to take my Dr's advice even if it means I can't go. I don't want to risk anything, especially premature labor. So I guess we'll have to wait and see!

We've set up my 20 week appointment for February 9th! Can't wait to find out what we are having. Most of the family have settled on 2 boys... but I'm at least hoping for 1 girl. I've gotta give my Dad a grandaughter and the last 2 babies on my Mom's side have been boys. We need a girl!!

I'll keep posting on the progress and I'll be sure to post as soon as I know what we're having! It's so exciting, I can't wait!!

Bring on the Holidays!

I am ready for the holidays!! All my shopping is done, gifts are wrapped and plans are made! This year we have lucked out and have plans with all the family on different days! I can't tell you how hard it is to see multiple families in one day... you just can't do it!

We'll see Kelly's family on Wednesday night, spend Christmas Eve and Day with Dad and Nancy and then see my Mom and Kel the day after Christmas. You don't know how happy I am that it has worked out this way this year! I was not looking forward to running around all day trying to fit everyone in. Especially with how irritable I've been lately. Gotta love those pregnancy hormones!

Plus, I procrastinated with shopping... I always do. I still hadn't done anything for the parents. But Erica and I went out this morning with a mission and were able to get both sets of parents taken care of!! We did awesome!

So tonight was spent eating Mom's sugar cookies (so yummy!) and wrapping Christmas presents. I'm so relieved that I can go into this next week knowing that it will be a relaxing Christmas. No running around, just spending time with family and having a great time. Sorry no Christmas card this year, we were kinda distracted. But I'll tell you, next year you will see one cute card!!

Sending our love to you all this Holiday Season! I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and an even better New Year!!
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

Meet the Babies!!

Kelly and I had our second ultrasound yesterday! It wasn't the best 10 minutes of my life, only because the non personable ultrasound tech seemed to enjoy pressing hard on my stomach a little too much. But we left with our first baby photos!

Meet Baby#1
Measuring 11.5 weeks and heart rate at 167.

Meet Baby#2
Measuring 11.5 weeks and heart rate at 171.

Here they are together!

Kelly thinks the baby lying vertically looks like a little robot... and Erica thinks the one laying horizontally takes after me, because it's being lazy!! But there they are!! Two babies... in my belly. It's still so hard to believe. I don't even think it will really hit Kelly or me until we are both holding the cuties!

As for me, I'm doing much better. I mean, I'm past the sickness (knock on wood) and moving on to the body aches. Mostly it's been my back and my stomach. A lot of stretching going on to try and fit these two in there. I still am having trouble eating. I think it's weird to be starving but have no appetite. Food just doesn't sound appealing and it's difficult for me to eat. More so in the evening... I've been doing good with being able to eat some cereal in the morning, but I have to work on dinner.

I've been trying to hold out on buying maternity clothes, but I don't think I'll be able to do that much longer. With my stomach stretching and expanding double what a single baby would be, my pants no longer fit. Luckily I've got Mom and Nancy who just can't wait to take me shopping! I'm definitely starting to show and haven't decided on whether or not I'll be posting pictures. If you were to look at me and not know I was pregnant... just get me to laugh. My entire round stomach bounces up and down, like a jello mold! It's pretty funny to see!

But that's all for now!! Just going to try and get through the holidays in one piece. My next appointment will be after Christmas, but I don't expect anything big. But I will certainly keep you guys all updated!

If I don't see or talk to any of you before the holiday...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! We love you all!!

First Appointment Shocker!

Today was our first appointment with our OBGYN and what an appointment!!

Our babies are due June 24th. That's right, babies! Kelly and I are expecting twins! OMG, right? That's what I said!! We joked and joked about the possibility because as far as we knew there were no twins in either family, but apparently my Grandpa Peck has uncles that are twins. So, I guess I'm the lucky one to carry on the tradition. The appointment went great. Our Dr seems really nice! We went in to get the ultrasound and there they were... 2 cinnamon bears with 2 heart beats! I cried, said a few profanities and then cried some more! The Dr. wasn't expecting twins, he wasn't alone in that department, but we've set up another ultrasound for next week to take pictures. This is just crazy!!

How am I doing? Well... I'm a little freaked out now. I couldn't imagine how we were going to manage one newborn, let alone two!! Both babies are measuring 10.2 weeks and are expected June 24th. Of course there are more risks with having twins... such as premature births but I'm trying not to think about that now! I'm definitely worried about the extra weight gain. I was scared enough as it is with being pregnant, now carrying 2... Man this is going to be hard!!

I've put up a new voting poll on my side bar with new questions... We'll find out early February the sex of the babies. Let's hope Boy AND Girl! We'd be done with only 1 pregnancy!

More posts to come... I've got to go process all of this! Love to all!

Baby? Yes Please!!

Yep, if you haven't already heard through the grapevine or my updated facebook status, I'm pregnant! That's right, Kelly and I are expecting our first child June 2010. We confirmed with a Family Practice Dr. on 10/27 and still can't believe it. Weren't really planning or trying for a baby... but it happened! It has been so hard to keep it a secret since then... I know I'm still in the early stages but I can't hold it in anymore! I'm excited and I want to share it with family and friends!!

I don't have much to say now, only that I'm a little over 2 months along and am nauseous 24/7. I've only had a few days of real morning sickness, but so far so good. I haven't really been eating... due to the my constant nausea and food not sounding good. But I'm trying to get better! I've been stuffing myself with Honey Nut Cheerios, PB&J Sandwiches, Mashed Potatoes, and Kettle Corn. I know, not the most balanced pregnancy diet... but it's the only thing that sounds good and that I can keep down. Smells are starting to get to me, which I never thought would happen.

We have our first visit with an OBGYN on 11/30 at the new IMC Hospital in Murray. I'm really excited but nervous as well. Once I got married, my new insurance no longer covered my old Dr, so I'm starting off new and that can be a little nerve racking! We don't have a set due date... but I've done some calculating and if I'm correct we'll be expecting our little bundle of joy late June 2010.

So I'm stressing!! Which isn't good for me or the baby. But not having planned this pregnancy, I'm just really worried about finances. I mean I know you can never be fully ready for a baby... but we didn't really prepare at all. But as my husband always says "Things will work out!" And they always seem to!

Be sure I'll be keeping you all posted over the next 7 months and I'll be sure to post my due date right after the Thanksgiving Weekend!

Thank you to my family for being very supportive!!
(especially our roommates!!)

Perfect Fall Day!

Having Jesse over for a few hours on Thursday is always a blast! And today was no different! With it being such a gorgeous day outside, we decided to play in the leaves!! We may have gotten a little dirty, leaves in the hair and I think maybe a little in the diaper... but we had fun!
It was the perfect fall day!!

I'm sorry, he looks like he may be on something!

KJ made a pathway and Jesse loved it!

Yup, the mustache is back ladies and gentleman!!
Best part about it, is that family photos are this Saturday!! YES!

So there is an inflatable ghost that pops out of a pumpkin at the house at the end of the street. Jesse sat there for like 5 minutes just watching it! He loves that thing! It was such a nice afternoon! Sun shining in the clear blue sky with a slight fall chill in the air!
Best day for playing in the leaves, definitely!!

Gotta Love Self Portraits!

Erica and I should never be given a camera!
Although we always end up going nuts and taking far too many photos, some of my favorite times are when we are just being goofy in front of a camera... and I must say, Erica makes the best partner for self portraits!! Hands down!

Our hair looks amazing though, right?! Yup, that's thanks to Erica!! She is amazing! (and a pretty hot blonde!)

Happy 23rd!

What a day! Yesterday I celebrated my 23rd birthday and it had to have been one of the best birthdays I've had in a long time. The day started out with breakfast in bed from my sweetie! Along with a card, flowers and new perfume! It was awesome! Kelly let be relax all day and he even cleaned the kitchen and started wash. 2 things he hates to do!

After a day of just pure relaxation, we headed off to Kalie and Jesse's place for the Pretty in Pink Party! It was a blast! We had some delicious food, drinks and even yummy jello shots! Joe made me a PINK angel food cake and we celebrated with strawberry short cake, my favorite! Joe also surprised me with a PINK Snuggie! I was so excited! I've used it all morning playing the Wii. It's just so convenient and stylish! Thanks Joe!!

After playing some guitar hero Kalie, Erica and I wanted to start a board game, but we needed some good snacks. We took a drive down to the local Harmon's and stocked up! Popcorn, Tortilla chips, suckers, m&m's and fun dip! Lot's of junk and sugar! Although I love me some junk food, I'd have to say the car ride was the best part! Taking crazy pictures, singing our hearts out and dancing like crazy! Us 3 girls should really not be left alone together! When we got back to the house we ended up playing only a few rounds of Apple to Apples and then started a game of LIFE. Erica kicked our trash by like 100k!

Kalie and I at the beginning of the party! We look so good!

Like my crown? It says Princess!! :)

I was SO EXCITED to get this picture! He was so excited for the Pink Party and did a great job helping his Mom with the decorations! I love this little guy!

Erica's here!! A little late, but she got the party started!

Aren't we cute?! Plus, all of our pink shirts were the same shade! Awesome!

Eating Joe's angel food cake that he made! SO GOOD!!

YEA!! Not only is it PINK, but purchasing it you make a donation to the Breast Cancer Association! Way to go JOE!

Must have funny faces!

It wouldn't be Erica and me to take a funny face not knowing the camera was zoomed in, now wouldn't it?

Crazy car ride!

Love it!

Thanks Kelly for everything!! I LOVE YOU!

Sisters are the best!! Thank you ladies for everything!
I love you both so much!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!! It was one of the best nights I've had in awhile and I have my sisters, brother in laws, nephew and husband to thank for it!! I love you guys!

Blackstrom Sleepover!

Last weekend we had all of our nieces and nephews over at our place for some much needed fun! We'd been wanting to get all of the kids together ever since Kelsey came home from the hospital and we were glad we finally made plans!! It was so good to see all of the kids together! Especially Kelsey, seeing her having fun was the best thing all night!

We started the night off with making our own personal pizzas! Lots of fun! However, I didn't even get to eat mine. I got full from just snaking on the pepperonis, so good! But all in all I think the pizzas were a good idea and start to the night. I will tell you one thing, I won't make Kool Aid anymore around kids or Erica for that matter. I don't know how many times Erica spilled that Kool Aid all over my counter. Thank heavens for, what was it? car cleaner? Or I would have never gotten the red spots off of my counter. It was even hilarious walking in on Erica in my kitchen and she had spilled all over the floor and some cabinets and was trying to clean it all "sneaky" like. Good times!

After some yummy homemade pizza, we decided to have the kids do a craft. Erica thought it would be great to do some finger painting and then send home the kids creations in frames to keep. Everyone loved the idea, even Kelsey! Even though she's the oldest, she always has so much fun just being a kid! So we dressed the kids in old camping t-shirts of Erica's and let them go wild with the paint. Kelly even found himself drawing a few creations. Things got pretty messy, but the kids did a great job!

We ended the night with Toy Story 2, popcorn and skittles! Kelsey and Garrett fell asleep first, followed by Lauren. But the two 3 1/2 year olds were still giggling. Finally with the help of Baby Tad Jesse and Caleb fell asleep. What a crazy night with 5 kids running around, but even among all of the chaos... a few whining moments... Kool Aid all over my kitchen (thanks Red!) we had the BEST TIME!!

We've already talked to the kids about a possible September/October camp out! Maybe some fishing, fire complete with smores and then spending the night in tents. We're gonna want to do it soon though, before it starts to get cold. What do you think parents? Can we still your kids for another night?

THANK YOU to the parents for letting us spend some time with the kids! I love seeing them and getting in that quality time! Thanks to the kids for coming!! Uncle Kelly and Aunt Andee love you all!!
