Be careful what you wish for! I wanted a girl and now we have 2!
Yesterday morning the entire family, well almost, set out to Fetal Studios in the mall. I was so nervous! I don't know why.. maybe because they were no longer going to be babies, we would be having a boy or a girl. I think it made it more real to me! And the experience was a little different. I've never felt on display before.. but we walked into this little room with a bed for me to lay on next to the ultrasound and theater seating! Everyone was able to watch on a big screen! All we needed was some popcorn! It was strange at first, but I was so happy to share this moment with the ones I love the most! Even little Jesse got to see the babies and he loved listening to the heartbeats.
Myself, Nancy and Jessica thought it was going to be Boy/Boy... so when the ultrasound tech listed Baby A as a Girl, the room went wild! Tears all around and excitment from the grandparents, this being Dad and Nancy's first granddaughter! After the shock of the first girl, it was time to move on to Baby B, with KJ in the background silently chanting, "Please have a penis, please have a penis, please have a penis!" ...checking, no penis.. Baby B was revealed another girl! KJ would now be surrounded by women!!
It was also fun to find that they already had their own personalities and are definitely mine and Kelly's. Baby A like KJ was full of energy, constantly moving.. while Baby B just laid there, obviously mine. Baby B was really shy like her Dad, but like me Baby A wanted to be the center of attention, even kicking Baby B until we went back to look at her. She also gave us a lot of fun poses, even looked straight into the camera most of the time!
We all went to lunch afterwards to celebrate! On our way there I asked KJ how he truly felt about it. He couldn't lie, he was a little disappointed. He was hoping for at least 1 boy. Apparently girl toys aren't as cool as boy toys! Tea parties aren't as fun as Transformers! He is also not looking forward to the boyfriends! He's already being so protective! He hopes they aren't that attractive so no one will want to date them or he likes the lesbian idea. What?! Um, okay...
It was a great day and I'm getting even more excited with shopping!! I can't wait for the ruffle bottoms, the summer dresses and the little bracelets!! It will be so much fun! I'll post some of the pictures later, but I couldn't wait to blog about it! Now to work on the nursery and names!
THIS IS CRAZY!! I still can't believe that I have twin girls inside me right now!!
